Oncologist, visit 2 + Katy

This is from Scout's discharge summary and instructions from Dr. E.

Today's Summary: Scout is back today for a recheck examination. He is feeling much better since his vomiting episode 2 weeks ago. His weight is stable and he looks good. His complete blood count was normal. His chemistry profile has persistent elevations in his amylase and BUN, but was otherwise fine.

Since he is feeling better and his weight was stable we hld off on repeating Scout's ultrasound today. Let's recheck him in 1 month and see how he is doing. If his weight is stable to improved, then we will hold off on the ultrasound, but if he is loing weight then we will repeat the ultrasound at that visit. We will also plan on repeating full blood work at his next visit.

So that is where we are: holding steady. His weight is back up to 11.94, which is exactly what it was at his initial visit. He had lost some weight when he had all that nausea and vomiting, and was down to 11.3 (on Dr. Fix's scale), so we know he can gain about half a pound in a week or so. Our goal weight is around 14 pounds, which is what he was before he got sick. Our next visit is March 20th.

Katy had a rough night and coughed during most of it. We ended up moving the dogs to the living room, where she still coughed, but was able to move around and work it out on her own. She did pretty good today, considering that the air conditioning repair men were here for about 4-1/2 hours replacing our cooling coil. The dogs had to stay cooped up for a better part of the day.
