This afternoon when I came home, Scout wasn't feeling well. He threw up some food sometime, and a little bit of spittle soon after I got home. He was licking his lips (a sign of nausea) and not interested in any wet food. The vet isn't in the office today, so he will go in tomorrow and have to spend the day there. I don't know if the nausea is because of the wet food that I put out this morning and we left out for him to nibble on, or because of whatever it is that has him losing weight. A couple of sites online said that you're not supposed to leave the food out for more than a couple of hours, so that could have something to do with his upset stomach. In any case, if he's still not wanting to eat in the morning, he will make a return trip to the vet. Maybe spending the day there will give them a better opportunity to observe him and make a better diagnosis. Or maybe he just ate some bad food and just needs an injection to combat nausea.
THURSDAY MORNING UPDATE:
This morning, Scout felt 100% better. He was purring and affectionate and hungry! He ate some treats overnight, and we gave him some turkey baby food, which he gobbled up. Soooo, he doen't have to go to the vet.
