Katy had a really rough night. At about 11:30, she was coughing and throwing up, and I moved the dogs to the living room. She threw up again, and I gave her a Cisapride, which my vet said was ok to give her a third time if necessary. She threw up again about 4:30. She was really restless. I put her on the couch next to me and she slept a little bit, but had short breaths. By this morning, she was making some wheezing noises. My regular vet is out of the office today, so we are going to the specialist. I will post more later.......
UPDATE 1PM
Katy is at the specialist. They are doing xrays and we are going to try a new antibiodic and a new motility drug. The specialist said that sometimes the food causes the dog to throw up, so we will have to try out some new food combinations as well. I am to pick up Katy around 3pm.
UPDATE 5PM
Katy is home now. The specialist said that her chest xray didn't look too bad. She had some spots in her lungs, but not as bad as the first time she got pneumonia. He gave her an anti-nausea shot, and she isn't allowed to eat tonight. She didn't throw up at the specialist until right before I took her home. She's got a new antibiodic to take, and anti-nausea medicine to take tomorrow before she eats. She's supposed to eat just canned food tomorrow. She's been wanting to drink, but the doctor said not to let her have too much water tonight. I let her have some water and gave her some ice when we got home, and if there's no problems, I'll let her have a bit more water in a few hours.
