The Morning After

Well, Katy had a good night for a change. She didn't throw up at all, and only coughed a couple of times. In terms of her expanded medical routine, she tried to eat her pill this morning instead of swallowing it, but after a few tries, she did it the right way. She seemed to enjoy getting just the canned food, but I think she was so hungry it wouldn't have mattered to her, anyway. She was pretty thirsty, too. So thirsty, in fact, that she drank from the lixit water bottle without giving me a hard time.

I moved her little table where her food bowl used to go (whoever feeds her holds the bowl, since she is hand fed now) and set it up as a barrier that she has to stand on to get to the water. This gives her an angle for the water to roll down her esopahagus. If she drinks too much, though, you still have to make her stop and hold her more upright so the water has time to get into her stomach. I'm going to put something on top of the table so her feet won't slide off. It has a slick finish and is kind of slippery, and she doesn't completely trust it yet.
