And then the sun went down...

What a horrible night. I did see it coming, though, because as soon as I finished the previous blog, Katy threw up just a teeny bit. She coughed a little before going to bed, but nothing out of the ordinary. About quarter to ten, she started coughing a whole lot more. I sat with her for about ten minutes, and she settled down. She had another episode about 11:30, and then at about 12:45, she started such a coughing fit, it sounded like she was choking. She threw up three times before I could let the dogs into the back yard.

In the living room, it took about 15 minutes to get her settled down. She was really nauseated, and I gave her a Reglan a little after 1am, but it seemed to not do too much. I couldn't get her to settle down and relax. At 2:30, I gave her a Cisapride, and that seemed to do the trick. I'm not sure when, because I nodded off, but at 5:30 this morning, she was sleeping at one end of the sofa and I was at the other. She'll have a tiny breakfast this morning, and then hopefully, she will have a good day with a new routine and we'll see how things go this evening.

AFTERNOON UPDATE: Katy got a "lite" breakfast, and was able to hold it down with no problems. She spent the morning in the yard with Max, and then at lunchtime she and Max were kenneled to avoid the afternoon heat. No "surprises" in the kennel when I got home from work, so she seems to have had a good day. Hopefully, it will go in through the evening.
