Ginger Needs a Home!

A friend of mine at work is a foster doggy mom, and has a pup that needs a home. If you know someone who is interested, let me know, and I will give you the contact information.

Ginger is a beautiful Golden Retriever mix puppy about 11 months old. She was originally found by one of our neighbors under a bush around our old dog park and would not come out because she was extremely frightened and in “protection” mode afraid of everything that moved. After Judy (our neighbor) decided to come get Brad to help her try to get her out after attempts to coax her with wieners, she was thrown into the scary world of humans once again. Two weeks later and lots of energy (and great friends helping out with well wishes, money donated for her surgery and lots of trips in the middle of the night to go outside), Ginger is doing very well and finding that being in a pack of “old” pups is as hard for her as it is for usJ She is definitely a very sweet dog and needs to find a perfect “furever” home with someone with lots of love and patience to give that can calm this beautiful, frightened little soul and let her realize that dogs should be treated as one of God’s creatures. We believe Ginger will do best with another dog to play with and/or children because she is very loving and sweet and wants to be included in everything.

Ginger has recently undergone surgery to repair a fracture in her left hip. The vet suggested that this fracture was probably caused by someone kicking her. She was also found with a nylon clothes line cord as a collar imbedded around her neck; she is approximately 25 lbs underweight and has a slight case of the “red” mange that the vet said can be treated after she heals from her surgery and it is not contagious to humans or other dogs. Ginger is still skittish and scared of many things but she is becoming more confident every day and has come a long way. We don’t believe that she was ever an inside dog and is doing well with house training. Ginger has found a lot of comfort in Chio’s (our big dog)’s big red chair and playing with all the dog toys and our cat.

If you could please pass these pictures along to anyone you know in your animal network, we would greatly appreciate it.
