You presented Scout to the onclolgy service for a re-examination. You reported tha he has been doing well at home and has not needed the appetite stimulant since ~01/2009 which is great. His examination reveals no new concerns. His weight looks good but is just slightly decreased as compared to his last visit at 13.62 pounds today.
His complete blood count and chemistry panel were repeated today. The complete blood count is pending and I will email you later with the results. His BUN is elevated at 46mg/dL, but this is stable as compared to his last visit. Overall, I am pleased. I have refilled his medications, and he should recheck with Dr. Endicott in 3 to 4 months for a re-examination, complete blood count, and chemistry panel.
He is a great kitty. Thanks for letting me care for him today.
Yay! Although I think he has them smoked on the "great kitty" part. I think he just behaved because it was his first time with this crew. He tends to lure vet techs into a false sense of security, and then he POUNCES!
Later, I got this email from Dr. Carreras:
Scout's complete blood count results are normal. His red blood cell count has actually improved since his last visit, his HCT today is 32.3% up from 28.5% at his last visit. So he looks great!!
Take care and Dr. Endicott will see him in 3 to 4 months.

So he is doing really, really good. I am glad.
I wish I could say the same for Katy. When I fed her lunch, we sat up for over half an hour, and then twenty minutes later, she proceeded threw up for most of the next hour. She drank some water and is now sleeping. (Yay! sleeping = no vomiting) We have pretty much accepted that her time to go could happen at any time. Dr. Fix told us when she was so sick last month that she could not afford to lose any more weight. I'm sure her organs will start failing at a certain point, and that will be the end. She is a really good dog, and we really don't want her to suffer, but it is a hard decision to make when she is rolling around on her back in the living room and chasing bunnies in the back yard. We will just enjoy whatever time we have left, no matter how long.
