We both had off today, so we were able to divide and conquer our to-do list. As a result, we scratched the last thing off the list at 12:30 this afternoon. I guess one good thing about a hurricane is that you get all the repairs done at your house that you had been planning to do but never seemed to have the time. We did have to make one trip to Lowe's for some supplies, but they had a lot of people working to help customers find what they needed and check them out quickly.
We also went to Wendy's for lunch. We tried Whataburger, but it closed at 10:30, as did Jack in the Box. Wendy's was closing at noon, and we got there around 11am. It was nice because we were able to eat and get back to work on the house. The dogs were pretty excited with all the movement this morning, and enjoyed running around the yard with us working back there. They even managed to sneak out the gate for a brief, one-minute sojourn into the neighborhood. The cats are unaffected, unaware, uncaring (take your pick, based on your knowledge/experience with cats) with the whole situation. Scout has noticed that the ice chest is in the house, and has taken up a perch on top, since the only time the ice chest is in the house is usually when we have been to Grandma's, and it's full of her baked turkey. It is impossible to convince him otherwise.
There are a few wind gusts outside, but no rain yet.
