Scout went to the vet today. His weight is exactly the same: 13.75, and his bloodwork has actually improved since our last visit. Yay! We don't have to go back for another three months. Dr. E. was very pleased with Scout's test results, but they did have to put him in the kitty bag again. As long as he continues to do well, he will not have to have an ultrasound or any new medicines.
Here is his discharge summary:
Scout is back today for his 3 month recheck examination. You report that he is doing well at home with only occasional days of stomach upset. ON physical examination he appears in good body condition and his weight is stabe at 13.75 pounds. His complete blood count iwas within normal limits. His chemistry profile does have persistent elevations in his BUN however it is improved at 51. Overall I am pleased with how he is doing and think we have found a good combination for him. I would like to see you back in 3 months for his next recheck examination.
Here's a two minute video of Scout while we wait for the doctor to come and discuss the results of his tests.
After exploring the room, Scout retreated to his carrier.
And took a nap.
In other Houston animal news, the Houston Zoo has a new St. Vincent Amazon Parrot. New as in baby. Our zoo is the only zoo in the country to have these endangered birds in captivity, and the first in the world to hatch the species in captivity (in 1972). It's a pretty neat story you can read here...
