Ugh!

Maybe I should just stop updating with good posts. Monday afternoon when I got home, Katy had thrown up in her kennel. Then this morning at 2:30, Katy started coughing and threw up. I put the dogs outside, but Katy felt the need to bark for ten minutes until I brought them inside. Then she looked out the window and barked. She didn't throw up anymore, but she was really, really hyper. I don't think she sat or laid down for an hour. She chewed (noisily) on a bone until I took it away from her, and then she chewed (noisily) on a tennis ball until I took that away from her. Then she went around to all the windows in the living room to look out them and bark, and I had to fuss at her again. Max slept through the whole thing. Either she settled down, or I passed out from exhaustion, because the next thing I remember the alarm was going off. She didn't throw up in her kennel this afternoon, so that is good, but she's been coughing since dinner, and I've had to sit her up several times to settle things down. Hopefully, tonite will be much better.

Friday UPDATE:

What a rough week! My "Katy Alarm" went off at 2 a.m. every day except today, when I got to sleep in until 5. I never would have thought that I would consider getting up at 5 a.m. as "sleeping in!" Anyway, This morning was also the first time this week she did not throw up in her kennel, so I'm taking that as a good sign. She's still rather nauseated during the day, especially when she drinks water-- we're getting a pretty fast reversal with water-- so I am having to limit the liquid water intake. But the dogs don't mind it that much, because it means a lot of ice for them.
